CEFX
have released another new body for us 1/12th racers, the Peugeot LMP
racer. The first (hopefully!) of a new type of shell that does away with
the upswept tail of old, and replaces it with a proper shallow side and
rear wing.
The shell was approved by the BRCA Committee this month, and was used at
the Ashby National for the first time by Alan Curry (Calandra) and Alan
Leighton (CEFX). After a bout of extended testing at Chesterfield last
week, Alan L was delighted with the shell. "It handles very easily" said
Alan, " allowing the 'less accurate' driver (who could he be thinking
of?! – Ed) to keep the car rolling round the turn, even if the line
isn't totally perfect."
For
the first time in years we have four current LeMans-type cars available,
this one adding to the CEFX LMP900, Parma Zytek 04S and Calandra
Courage. Just think what one of these painted up like the real thing
would look like on the track…
Chris
and Caroline Clark are expecting their second child, a sibling for Jack.
Mrs C was looking radiant, and carrying all before her, at the Ashby
National. Chris, meanwhile, is carrying on as usual, as our picture
shows!
We wish the whole Clark family a safe and happy time until the new Clark
joins us in the world. You just know Chris has worked out that it will
be after the Euros!!
Another
new product, this time those round black things that keep
the expensive carbon chassis from getting scraped on the floor – tyres.
Parma/PSE are offering these natty-looking white wheels wrapped with
(probably!) Gandini rubber. Available in Purple and Magenta fronts; and
White, Gray and Pink rears. Best news is the price, around 30% less than
the competition. Go to the
Parma website for
more, and your local model shop for products. Distributed by
Helger Distribution.
Results are now available for all the Nationals up to and including
Ashby. Qualification Officer Clive Coombes has an excellent site that
includes results from the last two seasons, and an up-to-date
championship table.
