CMCC is based at Kemble airfield where we have our own permanent tarmac track, which was opened in August 2005 by Lord Apsley.

We can be found on the map using this link, ( I suggest you zoom out by a couple of 'clicks'), once you get to the airfield on a race day follow the directions below.

The track has many features:

• Large rostrum - can accommodate 15 drivers and gives an excellent view of the track

• Flexible track design - cut outs can be opened or blocked off to allow a large number of different layouts

• High quality, high grip tarmac surface

• Integrated Alycat timing loop

• Marshall points covering all of the track - with protective netting and high visibility jackets

• Fully equipped toilet block - male and female facilities as well as shower cubicles

• Dedicated pit area - located directly underneath the rostrum it allows for refuelling and car repair during races, a separate pit lane also allows safe re-entry of cars onto the track

The track's postcode is GL7 6BA - if you use this for directions make sure you use the A433 to get to the airfield, it is possible you will be directed to the other side (A429) where the entrance has been closed.

From Birmingham / M5 North:

Take junction 11A of the M5, take the A417 to Cirencester. Leave A417 follow signs for Cirencester. Turn right at roundabout & go over bypass, straight over next roundabout. Into 30 limit.

At roundabout take the 1st exit onto Swindon Road (signposted Stroud A419)

At roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Bristol Road - A419

At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Bristol Road - A419 (signposted Through Traffic)

At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A419 (signposted Stroud)

At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A433 (signposted Tetbury, Bath, Chippenham)

Ignore sign-posted left turn to Kemble Airfield main entrance.

After approx 3 miles road turns right, at this point turn left onto minor Rd SP Jackaments Bottom. This road is narrow and uneven, beware.

If Airfield gate is closed either press buzzer & mention Cotswold Model Car Club or call 07739 556597. Keep Airfield fence on right & follow roads to model car track.

From Bristol/M5 South:

Take M4 east to Junction 17, take A429 SP Kemble. After passing through Crudwell, pass Kemble Business Park ,

pass main entrance to Kemble airfield on left.

in Kemble Village take 2nd left just before Panda Crossing Lights, pass under railbridge.

Turn left onto A433

1/2 mile where road turns right, turn left onto minor Rd SP Jackaments Bottom.

If Airfield gate is closed either press buzzer & mention Cotswold Model Car Club or call 07739 556597. Keep Airfield fence on right & follow roads to model car track.

From London/M4 East:

Take Junction 15, follow A419 SP Cirencester.

Leave A419 SP Cirencester Industrial Centre, (pass military airfield on left).

At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Bristol Road - A419

At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Bristol Road - A419 (signposted Through Traffic)

At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A419 (signposted Stroud)

At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A433 (signposted Tetbury, Bath, Chippenham)

Follow A429 or A417 signposted to Cirencester. Once you have crossed over a bridge with a dual carriageway underneath keep going to the next large roundabout.

Important Note for Caravans & Motorhomes regarding access to the North entrance to Kemble Airfield

If you go through Kemble village there is a height restriction of 10' 6" under the railway bridge. There is also a height restriction on the A433 south of Cirencester of 13' 0" close to the Kemble turn.

One route to avoid the height restrictions is up the A433 from the south, i.e. from Tetbury. (from M4 J18)

If travelling from the North, this route can be accessed from the A429 by going south of the main entrance to Kemble Airfield, turning right at the Kemble Business Park SP Culkerton, & pick up the A433 north again to the back entrance to the Airfield.

From the East, when coming up the A429 from the M4 (J17), go through Crudwell then turn left at the Kemble Business Park SP Culkerton, then turn right onto the A433 north again to the back entrance to the Airfield.

NEW - PLEASE READ:

 If you get to the gate and it is closed, use the intercom, say you are going to the Model Car Track and the tower will open it for you. During the winter the tower is open from 9am to 5pm, if you arrive and cannot contact the tower please phone Doug's mobile (077 3955 6597) The gate will be closed from 7pm to 7am. (this may be modified for our events, see Club website for update)

Once on Kemble Airfield – please observe 20 MPH speed limit.

From the gate keep turning right, keeping the main airfield fence on your right. Follow the roads around to the track. There are two right turns to make before you drop down the slope to the track. There are a couple of Hawker Hunter aircraft fuselages on the right just opposite the track.

Please do NOT park on a road, pull off onto the grass. 

The campsite is before the track on the left, please ask a Cotswold member if unsure.

Event Details

Practice is allowed on Saturday from 10am to 6pm

Booking will close on Sunday at 8.55am. Heat 1 will start at 9.15am

New entries will be accepted on the day but there will be a late entry fee of £5 in addition to the £12 entry.

Catering will be available on race day. There is also a restaurant within 10 min walk from the track.

Please take all your rubbish home

Important - Please Note:

· Please inform us in advance of any changes to your entry - e.g. if you have changed to 40 MHz, or have lost or damaged crystals. This will save time and inconvenience on the day.  Anyone wishing to sell any product must sell it through the nominated model shop.
· Do not park on any roadway, please park on the grass.

Camping Details:

Camping & Caravanning will be allowed from Friday evening. A fee of £5 per unit per night will be charged to camp overnight, payable in advance. Book in advance. Use this form.

Drinking water is available at the Toilet Block, which is approx. 2 minutes walk from the track.

No foul drainage will be available on site.

No electric hook-up is available

Be aware that pitting is on a tarmac/grass surface, so please bring ground fixings or weights with you.

No BBQ’s on the ground

No camp fires

All generators to be turned off by 10.30pm

Please respect we will have families staying.
