“Can we change the rule 11.9.1 to read “any truck body”
Rule 11.9.1 currently reads: “Any commercially available truck bodyshell (as in an articulated truck) intended for 200mm cars is allowed, providing it satisfies other stated dimensions in these rules.”
Proposer: Addam Talbot BRCA no 8208
Seconder: John Ryland
“Can we add [a rule into the 200mm truck class] a trim tab NOT WING may be used with a max chord of 25mm”
Proposer: Peter Kay BRCA no 6713
Seconder: Craig Freestone
“I would like to propose the following amendment to the existing rule 10.16
The reason for this change is to allow passive telemetry systems to be used during competition racing.
The change I am proposing will allow drivers/mechanics the ability to monitor safe working limits particularly the monitoring of battery levels helping to avoid accidental runaways, and engine temperatures to hopefully avoid expensive failures.
Current systems operate within the 2.4Ghz frequency range where capacity/interference is not an issue.
The cost of such systems has come down dramatically over recent years and is now easily within the financial reach of all racers.
Current wording:
It is not allowed to use any electronic device for traction and/or braking control. It is also not allowed to use any form of telemetry with Active Transmission.
Proposed wording:
It is not allowed to use any electronic device for traction and/or braking control. It is also not Allowed to use any form of telemetry which actively Interacts with traction, braking or steering control. Any passive telemetry system must operate within the 2.4Ghz spectrum range.
The principle difference to the wording would allow the use of passive telemetry systems such as the Spektrum telemetry system.
Telemetry should be allowed to provide the following information from the car whilst in motion.
Engine Temperature
Receiver Battery voltage
Receiver signal strength/quality
Shaft rotation speed x1
The ‘Spektrum’ SPM1300 system is totally passive, meaning it does not have any control over the cars systems including transmission, engine, steering or geometry.
Information is simply sent wirelessly via the 2.4Ghz frequency spectrum to a hand held ‘pager style’ receiver.”
Proposer: Wayne Lander BRCA no 2329
Seconder: Steven Lander
“Propose that we change the racing format to implement a ‘bump up’ finals system which, time permitting, should follow the EFRA format as closely as possible.”
Proposer: Wayne Lander BRCA no 2329
Seconder: Steven Lander
“Propose that
the committee provides a driving standards referee for every final as a minimum,
preferably for qualifying too.”
Proposer: Steven Lander BRCA no 9259
Seconder: Bill Philpott
“Propose that the organising club provides a scrutineer for the national”
Proposer: Steven Lander BRCA no 9259
Seconder: Bill Philpott
“Propose that the section apply our rules above all others”
Proposer: Wayne Lander BRCA no 2329
Seconder: Steven Lander
“Propose that the committee has the authority to amend BRCA technical rules to adopt EFRA specifications if it is deemed beneficial”
Proposer: Steven Lander BRCA no 9259
Seconder: Bill Philpott
“Amend rule 1.8 – remove 1 lap penalty and replace with ‘stop-go’ penalty”
Rule 1.8 currently reads: “All cars are to join the circuit from the Pit Lane at all times, except for the start of the final, which will be from the designated starting grid. Should a car leave the circuit for any reason, and rejoin the track in such a way as to gain an advantage, the competitor will receive a one lap penalty at the Race Director’s discretion.”
Proposer: Steven Lander BRCA no 9259
Seconder: Bill Philpott
“Amend rule 4.5, remove ‘for the first offence…from the days racing’ – replace with ‘he has the following penalties for use at his discretion – stop-go penalty (pitlane), 10 second stop-go, 1 lap penalty, disqualification”
The part of Rule 4.5 referred to is currently: “The Steward will also monitor driving standards and competitors behaviour. For the first offence a ten second penalty in the pit lane may be issued. For a second offence ONE LAP may be deducted. For a third offence the Steward will disqualify the driver from the day's racing.”

“Propose that all heats contain 10 cars with the exception of heat 1 which may contain less”
Proposed by committee
Delete rule 1.3 and replace with:
1.3 Heats will be started using a rolling start.
1.3.1 Cars are assumed to be running before the start in the ‘warm-up’ period between heats. The drivers will be warned of the start of the race 1 minute and again 30 seconds before the start.
1.3.2 A car’s race time will start the first time that car crosses the timing loop after the start has been signalled. The car’s race time must only be started by the car’s transponder unless it has not completed a full lap when the race time clock is at 30 seconds.
1.4 After failure to make the start or on any re-starts during a heat the car must enter the track from the pit lane exit.
1.5 Heats in qualifying will comprise 10 cars wherever possible. If this produces a ‘first heat’ with so few cars that marshal provision for the next race is impractical, all heats will be adjusted in size so as to produce an even number of cars in all heats in so far as this is possible.
Current rule 1.3 is: “Start of heats to be rolling or of a staggered nature (to be 1-10 round one, 4-10 1-3 round two, 7-10 1-6 round three and 2-10 1 round four) which ever is the more appropriate. After failure to make the start, or on any re-starts the car must enter the track from the pit lane.”
All remaining paragraphs of this section to be re-numbered as appropriate.

Delete rule 8.8 and replace with: “Bodyshells are to be 1/10th scale type GT shells and to be commercially available”
Rule 8.8 is currently: “Bodyshells are to be 1/10th scale type and must be commercially available.”

Change Rule 9.2 to read:
The engine may have a total capacity of not more than 2.11cc.
Engines shall be air cooled, with front rotary valve, two-stroke induction.
Engines may have a maximum of four (4) ports including the exhaust port.
No form of forced induction or any form of variable port timing is allowed.
One additional gap or slit in the bottom (or skirt) of the piston is allowed.
Only glow plug ignition is allowed. Standard or conical (turbo) glow plugs may be used.
Additional slits or holes in the liner are allowed as long as they do not extend beyond the top of the piston when it is at the lowest point of the stroke.
Carburettor shall have a maximum throat diameter of 5.50mm.
Engine internal modifications are allowed as long as they are within the parameters of rule 9.2.
For the purposes of this rule, a hole is defined as being an aperture completely surrounded by material.”
Rule 9.2 is currently:
The engines for 200mm rubber cars shall be air-cooled, with front rotary valve two-stroke induction type, with a maximum of four ports including the exhaust port. No form of forced induction is allowed or any form of variable port timing. Only glow plug ignition using standard ¼ UNF or conical (turbo) plugs is permitted. No holes in the piston and no form of variable port timing.
