With the season quickly drawing to it’s conclusion we were back at Tibshelf for the seventh round of this year’s championship. With the weather warm and sunny the track on Saturday was always busy, and there always seemed to be an awful lot of very fast cars on the circuit. Standing on top of the banked bend it’s amazing just how much speed the 1/8th cars carry into the banking and still manage to negotiate the flick that immediately follows the banking’s exit. Race day saw the weather much the same as Saturday ensuring that as it has been all season qualifying would be very tight. Man on the move all day was Gareth Bell who was to be the only driver to break into the magic 26 lap bracket. Only a couple of seconds behind him however were a host of drivers led by Richard Hicklin and current series leader Mark Green, The last race of the day saw Gareth lead the other ten open finalists away. Second place man Richard Hicklin began to experience radio interference right from the start and dropped out of contention. With Mark pressing Gareth hard these two began to slowly pull away from the chasing pack. Mark eventually found a way past Gareth, and began to pull out a very slight lead lap after lap. At the end of the thirty minutes the result was as follows
The lower finals resulted in wins for the following drivers
The next round of the championship is at the Mendip circuit on the 18th of September
