2006 8th IC circuit national title up for grabs

27/11/2006

With two rounds to go four drivers can still win the title. The 2006 title is being contested over 9 rounds with the best 6 to count. If you take the best 6 from the 7 we have had so far and do a bit of analysis it makes for some interesting reading.

The facts are ;

  • Tim Wood's best 6 results has him in the lead with 587 points

  • If you take the rest of the drivers and assume Tim does not improve in the last two rounds, and then assume any of the others win the next two, only Pete Hastings, Richard Hicklin and Neil Diver can still catch him.

To understand this take Gareth Bell as an example. Even though Gareth has won two rounds if he won the next two and therefore changed his two lowest scores of 75 and 48 into 100 points each, the max gain would be 77 points. He is currently 78 points behind so he would still be one point short.

Here is an extract of the top 10 positions showing the best 6 results so far
