1:8th IC EFRA Proposals 2005

27/11/2006

Boys & girls, 4 EFRA proposals for your review.  For each I have indicated the way I would vote. Let me know if you agree or disagree

1) Euro B eligibility. Two proposals or leave it as it is.
    a) Do not allow anyone who has made the top ten in the previous years EC A or B from Touring Cars, IC 200mm, 8th IC & offroad
    b) Do not allow anyone who has made the top ten in the previous years EC A or B from 1:8th I.C. Circuit.
At the moment any non 'A' ranked driver can enter. Because of the way the ranking works this is not very reflective of the drivers ability. As an example both Dave Spashett & Mark Green could enter the Euro B's simply because they did not do enough events. If we accepted the first proposal Mark & Dave would not be allowed to enter the Euro B's, in my opinion they are both A rated drivers. So at the moment you do get some very fast drivers at the Euro B's and this does defeat the objective. The current Euro rankings are on the BRCA website under the racing page of the 1:8th section.

I would vote for option a.

2) No Euro A's when the worlds are in Europe
It was a problem this year in Greece, we only had 45 drivers for the Euro A's in Greece. This will only affect us in 2009 & 2017.

I agree

3) Parc Ferme. for Semi's.
Proposal to only release the cars from the first semi when the second semi is finished so it gives both qualifiers from the semis the same amount of time to prepare for the final.

I agree

4) Le Mans start Vs Grid Start.
Scrap Grid Starts and make them Le Mans starts. I disagree. I know there are problems with grid starts but it's more realistic and with a Le Mans start you start a very long way back.

Cheers

Scott
