Allow Friday free practice.

Proposed change.

Amend rule 4.13 to allow for free practice on Friday. If a driver wants to use the track on the Friday this is something they would have to arrange with the club directly.

Reasoning.

• There is no real advantage to anyone practicing on the Friday as well as or instead of the Saturday. Sometimes it does make sense for a driver to practice on the Friday, for example, if drivers need to run new engines in it would be better for them to do this on the Friday instead of while fast drivers are on the circuit.
• In some circumstances local drivers cannot make the Saturday and so want to come down on the Friday afternoon.
• It’s also not something we can police and I think an unnecessary addition to our rules.

Proposed revised wording of 41.3

4.13 There will free practice on the Saturday (subject to local track operating hours) preceding Sundays racing and where possible, practice sessions will be organised on race day (Sunday) by the Race Director. The criteria for the duration and number of sessions being the engine start time, number of entrants and mix of skill factors. This under normal circumstances will be done in heat order at the discretion of the Race Director.
