1/8th IC Changes

We know everyone that attended the Brooklands meeting was very disappointed at not being able to run the finals, none more so than our long suffering race director Dennis Jones and Chairmen Eric White. We hope everyone understands the circumstances and appreciates that it was not something we could control. To confirm what happened here are the salient points.

At the start of the meeting the system was working quite normally
During the last set of qualifying a few transponders were not registering.
The two worst affected rounds were re-run with some manual counting as a backup.
At the end of qualifying Dennis and Eric spent a painstaking hour to ensure that the overall qualifying results were correct as best as they could.
During this time the team methodically checked every part of the system and it was concluded that the clubs receiver, that we plug our system into, was breaking down.
Unfortunately when the first final started it was obvious that the system had broken down to such an extent that it was not feasible to run as it was.
The faulty receiver is not something that the club has a backup of and they had been using it with not problem for a long while so there was no way this problem could have been foreseen.
It was agreed that as there was no way we could do any manual counting the finals could not be run.

Dennis Jones is going over the qualifying results in great detail to ensure that he is 100% confident that they are accurate. If he can then the provisional qualifying results will become the official race results and points will be awarded as such.

We are in touch with Shane from Brooklands and are waiting for confirmation that the receiver is indeed faulty.

Eric would like to add his his own personal thanks to all the drivers for their patience and understanding of what was a difficult and unforeseen situation. Not forgetting his sympathy for Dennis as the actual Race Director.
