Hi Everybody Its getting to that time of the year again, so could I start by extending on behalf of the 1/8th Committee best wishes to everyone for 2007 season, and a warm welcome to anyone who is joining us for the first time.

If this is your first meeting, please if you need any guidance or help talk to any of the committee members who will point you in the right direction. Our sole purpose is to make sure that everyone enjoys their racing which is what our section is all about.

Different rules apply for 2007 season, the main one being the mandatory use of Personal Transponders that the members decided on at Conference I am glad to say following that decision your Committee at their meeting went ahead with the purchase of a new receiver. This is now in our possession, and thanks to the efforts of Dennis Jones who arranged the purchase and is now in the process of commissioning the same, we are now in the position of being totally independent for timing purposes if the need should arise.

This is why a £2 levy was imposed by the members at Conference to pay for the equipment. Once the debt has been repaid to the BRCA the levy will be removed. At this point we must thank the BRCA for the loan facility which has enabled us to go ahead with our plans. I am sure you will agree that £2 is a small price per meeting to pay to ensure that when you arrive with over a £1000 worth of gear we are in a position to count your race times.

Your Committee are implementing your decisions but their are times when decisions have to be made that are not covered by Conference mandate. Be assured that the one criteria we always work to is that it is always in the best interest of the section and also the drivers themselves. I hope that you all have a good racing season.
