Dear Junior 1/10th Racer,
My name is Paul Worsley and I am the Chairman of the BRCA 1/0th Off-Road Committee. I am writing to you, as according to our records you have expressed an interest in 1/10th. Off-Road racing and are eligible to participate in one of the age groups of our Junior Championships for 2005. These Championships have long been regarded as a prestigious stepping stone for drivers in the 1/10th Off-Road community and this year will be hosted by Batley Model Car Club at Cleckheaton, close to Junc.26 on the M62. The event is held over the two days of 30th. & 31st. July, with 2WD on Saturday and 4WD on Sunday. On each day, we split the Junior entry into three age groups :-
The BRCA records indicate that your age should fall within one of the above classes. And if Dad has a car and he’s 40 or over, then he can even race himself – since we run a Veterans’ event alongside. Priority of entry to the event is given in the order of :- Under 13, Under 16, Veterans, with the Under 19 class taking any remaining spaces. Entry is free to the Under 13 and 16 classes and £5.00 per. day for Veteran and Under 19 classes. Participants are expected from all over the country and we would like to see you there too, since we believe the proper nurturing of our youngsters is one of the most important factors in the continued success of our Off-Road Section. The only requirement is that you – or indeed any of your friends that we do not have contact with – are a BRCA member. We promise you a great day - or if you’re lucky enough to have two cars, a great weekend racing in what will be a professional and well-run event with the BRCA 1/10th Off-Road Team in attendance. I’m also certain that there will be help on hand from some of the 1/10th Off-Road racing National drivers to help with those niggling set-up problems. Tyres have been chosen for the event in line with our National policy. They are Schumacher Mini Spike and Ballistic Buggy spike. Any compound can be used and the restriction only applies to the rear wheels. I hope I’ve whetted your appetite and that you have more than a little interest in taking part. We would love to see you. To enter, all you have to do is contact your Regional Rep. (if you have his details) or, contact our secretary Charlie Fraser giving:-
