BRCA 1/10 Electric Circuit Clubman Series - Round 2 Stafford

10th Electric Circuit

The 2nd round of this year’s clubman’s championship took place at the Stafford club in the north midlands. The club had put in some time preparing the track and all looked ready for a good day’s racing. There were 76 drivers competing over the 3 classes 17.5 blinky, 13.5 boosted touring cars and F1.

Overnight rain meant that a wet track but drying track greeted the drivers. Sending some back to their pit tables changing setup checking wet cars and watching the sky prior to round one, whilst enjoying the great food the onsite catering was serving. During the day the weather was somewhat erratic with conditions ranging from cold, dry through damp slippery to full wet and back again making setup and tyre selection tricky. As a result of the vote held the qualifying this year is round by round instead of FTD.

The free entry for junior meant there were several in attendances including Tiagan Mcphillips in her very first touring car race who came 3rd in the under 17 category 17.5 touring car

After practice and the drivers briefing the track was basically dry but cold which meant the grip was not great on the dry tryes. During the 3rd round it stared to rain initally just a shower but then real rain which meant the track was ranged from damp and slippery to full wet which was the best condition of the day as in the wet tyre then worked well.

At the end of qualifying we moved onto the finals starting with the F1 the top 5 atfer qualifying below.
