As the evenings start to draw in the focus of many racers across the country turns to carpet racing, and as with every winter a new season of LMP12 racing!

Probably the most anticipated event entry opening of the season is here, the GT12 World Championship entry opens tonight at 9pm

To boost entries at the GT10 and F1 National we are running additional heats for those wanting to run an LMP car at the Birtley National. There are restrictions on who may enter.

The BRCA GT Circuit committee would like to announce that the current GRP tyres will again be used for the upcoming 2016/17 season.

The BRCA GT Section are pleased to announced its calendar of events for the 2016/17 National championship for GT10, GT12 and Formula 1 cars.

The championships will be contested over 5 indoor rounds on carpet, with each driver’s best 3 scores counting towards their final placing in the series.

The final round of this seasons BRCA national touring car series took place at West London and saw a dominating performance by Schumacher’s Elliott Harper taking the overall win and TQ

10th IC Circuit

For the penultimate round of the BRCA 1/10th IC national series, the Adur club situated on the South coast of the county would be the venue. Unfortunately, due to the travel time required, many racers made the decision to not attend the meeting meaning that 23 drivers would compete with 4 drivers attending to race the 1/8th GT support class. The weather for the weekend proved to be cooler on the Saturday practice day with the temperatures rising for the main event.

Round 7 of the BRCA East of England Regional and the last round of 2016 headed to Norfolk, the home of Boughton Raceway, where the weather was looking good for what would be a busy meeting with championship presentations to be completed at the end of a busy schedule.

Round 6 of the BRCA East of England Regional series headed to the Herts electric track which could see the 4wd main and junior championships crowned. There was also the small matter of drivers wanting to get a decent score in to give themselves a shot at the championship podium.

Today marks the end of the 2016 regional 4WD championship. There was a good turn out, with 78 drivers in total. The day started sunny, with a potential threat of showers later in the day. The track was technical, proving challenging for most drivers.

The 1:8th Circuit Section are pleased to announce the timetable for the coming national at the popular Mendip Raceway

The second edition British Open GP, sponsored by DH Modelsport and Contact RC Tyres, took place over the weekend of the 27th & 28th of August at the Halifax circuit in West Yorkshire. The event would cater for 1/10th 200mm, 1/10th Sports GT, 1/8th GT, 1/8th IC & 1/8th electric with over 80 entries making it an exciting weekend. The race would take a similar structure to that of the popular ENS series with round by round qualifying and a single sided bump up finals format. Along with the race, a social event was hosted on the Saturday evening along with a raffle with prizes donated by the event sponsors. With the area known among racers as having its own climate, rain would make for challenging conditions throughout qualifying. 

The weekend of September 3rd/4th was the 5th and final round of the BRCA 1/8th Rallycross nationals at the brilliant Slough track, with the last lot of vital championship points to play for everyone would have to bring their A-Game! A few changes to the track between the Ebuggy/Truggy nationals meant it would be a new challenge for every driver! And the track looked fantastic, credit to the whole team at Slough, the perfect venue for the final round of the 2016 nationals.

The sixth round of the BRCA National series took place last weekend at the Wombwell Model Car Club sponsored by Momentum RC. The weather was to hold out for a fantastic weekend of racing.

The fourth round of the BRCA National series which was sponsored by Momentum RC, took place last weekend at the Wombwell Model Car Club, a circuit which the national championship visits twice this year, a challenging track with a very technical infield and long straight away.

The BRCA LSOR section are pleased to issue the fourth of our 2016 race reports.

The BRCA Micro Section are pleased to announced its calendar of events for the 2016/17 National championship for 1/16th Off-Road buggies. The National championship will be contested over 6 indoor multi-surface events, with each driver’s best 4 scores counting towards their final placing in the championship.

Its that time of the year again where you get to have your say and shape the future of RC Car Racing, The AGM 2016 is on 30th October at Gaydon Heritage Centre starting at 9am, After the AGM all attendees gain free entry to the museum.

Sunday saw the start of the Traction race series at Swifts Raceway. The revamped Autumn Shootout was back to sort the winners from the wannabes. Like last year the championship had attracted some of the UK's top drivers such as National champions Adam Catchpole, Darren Newton and Andy Murray. Also joining the field was newly crowned F1 Clubman champion Luke Lee. Once again the pit lane was full of activity and great banter before the track wars begun. The track layout seem to favor the GT10's and F1 classes with a lot of fast flowing corners. It was going to make it a very close meeting for the smaller GT12's.
