With the winter clothing on standby it was time to kick off the 2016 BRCA East of England regional series at a cold but more importantly dry Stotfold, a new venue for the EoE to visit but no stranger to holding big meetings.  The drivers started to arrive bright and early with a cold and damp start to the day but with the forecast good for the rest of the day hopes were high that we could be in for some good racing on what is a well prepared surface.

The 3rd April 2016 saw the return of the ever popular BRCA clubman series for the 1/10th Electric Circuit Section. This year saw round 1 held at the fantastic Eastbourne Electric Car Club, winner of the 2009 BRCA club of the year. Round 1 timetable for this weekend at Wombwell

This year’s championship for The BRCA 10th IC Circuit will be contested over 8 rounds at on road tracks with each driver’s best 6 rounds counting towards there finial championship place. Back by popular demand is the two day British Open meeting which is run jointly with the 1/8th section and is a non point scoring round.

After the second round of the championship we’re going to take a look at TQ man Neal King, Winner Andy Hastings and the returning David Spashett’s car and engine setups!

The second round of the BRCA Circuit Championship took place at the high speed circuit of Mendip R/C Raceway, created in 1977 the circuit was made to challenge the 2WD drive cars of the day, and allow corners to by taken at high speed, this means with a modern 4WD chassis it is very much a power circuit, thus a great engine and big brass sphere's are required to get around the circuit at full speed as the circuit is lined with concrete barriers, making this a circuit to be respected.

So this past weekend the season kicked off with round 1 of the BRCA Rallycross series held at Deerdale Off Road. The astro turf surface and unsettled weather was sure to mix things up as the nations best drivers would battle it out over two days looking for a solid start to the campaign.

The first round of the BRCA 1/8 Circuit Championship took place at the Cotswold Model Car club over the Easter weekend, with the new addition of an electric class to run alongside the nitro powered cars. With one of the highest number of drivers booked in to race within recent years, we were in for a great first round, unfortunately the British weather had other ideas with heavy downpours throughout the weekend.

The New website is not really that new, its coming on a year since the first concept was shown and we figure its time to let you know what we have planned and when. Also you can see if we have been hitting our targets, Its a bit boring and a bit geeky, but you might understand why the site isn't as full or complete, or why it didn't just happen over night....

PRO  on the road again to catch up with an old friend from the past and engage with probably the heart of club off-road racing over years in the West Midlands. many clubs have come and gone and provided great fun and racing in the region, and I'm sure many more will do in the future. This was my first club that I joined as  a very green but keen racer with my F1 Tamiya, but after many years of full size Motorcycle racing it was time to do something that was more relaxing. Little did I know what was to come in the future.
