BRCA F1 Sub-Committee Announcement – Rule Clarification

Silverstone RCMCC, Schumacher Racing and XFactory UK are pleased to announce the British Off Road Grand Prix 2018. It will be held between the 12th and 14th January 2018 at the Centre:MK shopping centre in Milton Keynes. This unique venue allows members of the public the chance to see a world class event up close. its sure to be a fantastic event.

The BRCA 10th Circuit committee would like to announce that the current GRP tyres will again be used for the upcoming 2017/18 season.

After the success of the British Open GP, the 1/10th IC National series would see Round 7 hosted just two weeks later at the Halifax Track.

For the 2017 season, Round 6 of the 1/10th IC National Series was run alongside the British Open GP.

 2017 BRCA LSOR Championship - It’s all over for another season.

On Sunday the 15th October at the Nene Valley Raceway Off road facility in sunny Northamptonshire the 2017 series finished with another 65 drivers participating in the series.


After Saturday practice and a night of fun and frollocks by the camp fire racing commenced just after 8:30 following our usual drivers briefing, and we finished for a first for the section, under flood lights around 7pm, that’s right over 10 hours of racing was had across the 3 classes and 65 drivers.

By the end of the day we had witnessed some close racing across the three scales just like we had seen during the whole series, for October the weather gods were with us and all 65 drivers had a great weekend, but who won I hear you ask ?

 First place in the clubman class went to Ibrahim with Matthew Buxton in second and Josey Schifano in third place.

So being the final round how did our championships end up ?

2WD.

 Our 2017 national championship is Karl Norris for another season, after many seasons trying Dave Grimshaw is finally rewarded for his long trips from Truro to support our series with the 2WD clubman title.

 

 4WD.

 Our 2017 national championship winner is Stuart Wood who had managed to put his race experience to good use with helping to set-up the KCR\MCD race team alongside with winning the champion about mid-season with a good consistent season. Our 4 wheel drive clubman champion is  Charles Butterworth despite missing out on our practice sessions this season due to his shop commitments.

 

 Short Course.

 Our 2017 national championship winner is Matt Stokes in his second year with the series despite switching manufacturers during the season having started racing the LOSI 5ive-T before switching to the MCD W5XL. Another driver who mixed vehicles this season is the 2017 sc clubman champion. 

 

 All our trophy winners will be awarded there silverware at the opening round of the 2018 series but congratulations to all who have taken part in the 2017 series.

The LSOR committee look forward to see you back in 2018 along with more new faces has we continue to grow year on year.

With an increase in popularity outside of our normal stomping ground (Midlands & South Wales), the section decided it should try travelling a little further North this season, and with that our first National event of 2016/17 was held last weekend at MB Raceway near Leeds. 

Its that time of the year again where you get to have your say and shape the future of RC Car Racing, The AGM 2017 is on 29th October at JCB Academy starting at 9am, After the main AGM the section meetings will follow.

On the 22nd of January 2017 the AWS went to the southern club Ledbury Model Car Club
