ABOUT US Welcome to Waterside Model Club’s car section, we are a friendly club based at Gang Warily Recreation Centre, Newlands Road, Fawley. We’re always pleased for new members to join us, whether you’re a novice or an experienced racer. If you have never raced before or used to race and are keen to get back into the sport please feel free to come along and have a chat with our members. We have a large indoor carpet track and we currently race 1/10 Touring cars and Tamiya M Chassis (mini) . In addition, if you’re interested in running any type of electric powered car Mardave, GT12, Drift, etc as long as there are at least two racers we will happily run a heat for you. We race every other Sunday from 8.30am to 12.30pm, please check the website for dates. F.A.Qs How can I find you? We meet at: Gang Warily Recreation Centre, Newlands Road, Fawley, Southampton SO45 1GA When do you race? We race every other Sunday, the sports hall is open from 8.30am to set the track up, please check the website for the next race date. What cars do you race? Touring: Electric powered 1/10th touring cars, 13.5t motor limit Blinky speed controller. Minis: 2WD (front or rear wheel drive) M-chassis can be used. Any Hop-Up parts are allowed that are made for that car. Only 27turn brushed sealed stock motor or 21.5 brushless (any manufacturer) is allowed. Any M-chassis rubber or foam tyre may be used. GT12: Only production available cars are permitted. Any BRCA approved 13.5t with 1s battery or 21.5t with 2s battery, ESC to set in Blinky mode only. Running on foam tyres. What do I need to race? An electric powered 1/10th or 1/12th scale car, a couple of batteries lipo bag/sack and charger. If you have not bought a car yet please come along and see which class you would be interested in, we’re happy to give some impartial advise. What tyres do you allow? We allow any slick rubber tyre for Touring cars, and any foam/rubber tyre for other classes. How much does it cost to race for the morning? Current fees per race meeting are: Adult non-member £8, Adult Member £7, Junior non-member (Under 16) £5, Junior member(under 16) £4. All race fees include insurance. Opening Times etc etc
