2017 LSOR European Championship News

Large Scale Off Road

Good news from the BRCA - EFRA Class fees reduced to £100, Licence increased to £50 for 2017 season

The LSOR section of the BRCA wish to remind all those LSOR owners who are considering taking part in next years Euros on home turf to get there registrations in.

The section needs to provide the UKs entry by mid December..

The 2017 EFRA Large Scale Off Road European Championship will be held at the Nene Valley Raceway Off Road Club in Northamptonshire from the 24th to the 29th July, 2017 with the BRCA offering those who wish to do any pre euros testing to participate in a round of the BRCA national series when it visits the Nene easter weekend.

Currently there are 111 entries but all nations have until mid December to confirm their driver numbers, the current split is:-

  • Short Course – 17 pilots
  • 2 Wheel Drive – 32 pilots
  • 4 Wheel Drive – 62 pilots

The drivers currently making up the 2017 40 man UK team are:-

Short Course :-Pete Barns, Adam Ellis, Jez Cauldwell, Rav Jansari, Matt Perry, Jim Whitehead, Ian Southey, Steve Jones, Tommy Chung, Andy Spence, John Hall, Rob Harpham, Lee Chapman, James Clark.

2 Wheel Drive :- Dave Ashton, Andy Knight, Mark Higgins, Mark Cove, Paul Gresty, Karl Norris, Oliver Whittleston, Terry Jackson

4 Wheel Drive :- Jack Keatley, Craig Orman, Steve Price, Mark Suggitt, Guy Page, Stu Wood, Chris Sutcliffe, Luke Gower, Rik Ashman, Ayaz Aslam, Leon Satchel, Martin Fitzpatrick, Les Darby, Dave Parish, Jim Davis, Roger Smith, Gary Barns, John Darby

In accordance with the EFRA rules if only 17 drivers participate in the short course class a European Title will not be awarded, for an award to be made 25 or more drivers need to contest the class from 3 or more countries.

I can confirm that during the BRCA meeting held yesterday the 2017 LSOR EFRA fees align with other BRCA sections and will be :-

2017 EFRA Licence - Purchased via the BRCA website (active in 2017) is £50

2017 Class Entry Fee is £100

Our section treasurer will be in contact with the drivers named previously via email with invoices and receipts accordingly to ensure all payments are made.

If you have already paid in full the £105 the section will refund the additional £5 you have paid following this years review.

Don’t forget if you are entered to make sure your vehicle complies with the EFRA class specification as payments are now non refundable.

Since each country has until mid December to “firm up” its entry, you still have the option of entering the best outdoor large-scale off road meeting in Europe on home soil, or should I say astroturf if you have not entered already! If you wish to be added to the 2017 team then follow these details, our closing date is Friday 16th December if you wish to be added to the uk team.

Please remember before “signing up” to read the EFRA rule book to ensure your race vehicle conforms to the EFRA vehicle specification which may be different to the standard BRCA rules.
