Alongside the open championships we again ran successful formula championships for drivers
between different rankings, giving all drivers something to compete for and aspire to win. These range from F1 to F4 starting with F4 for newcomers up to ranking 20.

F4 New – 20
It was great to see a number of newcomers and returnees to the class, Steve Davis improved throughout the season even managing some A-final appearances at later rounds and now a Mugen driver, second place was closely fought with Ralph taking it on count back a great result on his comeback season having not raced 8th for many years. Jamie and Jon both increased their 8th nitro programs for the year and were regularly competing at the front of the B finals.

F3 ranking 20-40
Young Mugen Jack Brann continues to shine as he progresses up the ladder in 1/8 with a full season from Jon Melton also racing Mugen and third was Mugen distributor Mike Manning making it a full Mugen podium.

F2 ranking 41-55
Another great season for Serpent driver Bjorn who was topping the B-final most of the season and made the A for the final encounter at Cotswold. It was close for second with although third was mistakenly given to Andy Mollet at Cotswold. Geraint had a consistent season with podiums and deservedly took second overall in F2 driving a Shepherd. Steve Smith was actually third and a regular B-finalist throughout the season driving Mugen, I’m sure he will be happy to take the trophy for third off Andy Mollet.

F1 ranking 56-76
The top three in F1 all had decent seasons with Sam driving Mugen more so at the start with Niall and Rob both having by far their best seasons results overall in 1/8. We look forward to seeing how all three progress in 2022 and whether they can get on the A-final podium and compete for the top positions in the open championship.
