BRCA GT National round 4 SWIFTS - The Force Awakens...

The GT National championship continued last weekend at Swifts raceway, drivers were greeted to a fast a flowing layout ready for the days action of GT10 and F1, with GT12 to follow on the Sunday

The GT10 class got underway on Saturday with Adam Catchpole setting the early pace closely followed by Mark Barford. Adam would continue his impressive pace in this class and TQ all four rounds of qualifying. Mark Barford would line up 2nd, David Sedgwick 3rd and Aidan Ripley 4th

Onto the final, Adams dominance continued as he lead the field away and didn't look back, this time no gremlins would deny Adam the win. further down the grid there was plenty of action with lots of exciting racing. Mark Barford and David Sedgwick would join Adam on the podium.

In F1 it would be Daniel Blake setting the pace in round one, followed by James Wright and James Greener. Championship winner Andy Murray would be further down the field in 11th.
Daniel would remain at the top of the time sheets for the rest of qualifying, Andy would line up 2nd, James Wright 3rd less than a second would split the top 3

Onto the final, the pack got away well, and they're was plenty of action going on throughout the field, A few incidents during the race would cause James wright to fall down the order, allowing Daniel and Andy to break away. Andy would keep the pressure on Daniel up until the last minute where an error from Andy would allow some breathing space, Daniel would take the chequered flag giving him his first national win, from Andy and completing the podium James Greener.

The Top 5 were: Daniel Blake, Andy Murray, James Greener, Niall Cochran and Darren Newton.

Daniels win secures him 2nd in the championship.

Sunday morning the drivers were again greeted to a flowing track design, fully changed however from the previous day.

Qualifying got underway with Andy Murray setting the pace from James Hart and Aidan Ripley. Championship contender Adam Catchpole could only manage 4th in round 1. As the track continued to change the Schumacher cars started working well, Andy would TQ all remaining rounds to take pole, Adam would get his Zen better suited to the conditions for round 4 but would have to settle for 3rd on the grid. David Gale would line up 2nd.

Onto the final, Andy got away clean, Adam tried to pass David into the 2nd corner on the inside however the pair would touch sending Adam into the chasing pack, carnage followed. as everybody got going again, it would be Andy, David, Little Jonny Aird, Craig Mawson then Adam.
Andy would would make a small gap to the chasing field, a very close battle was going on for 2nd,3rd and 4th. After a couple of minutes Andy's lead decreased with David and Little Jonny pushing hard, they were all within a couple of car lengths. Little Jonny tried a last minute pass against David, however it wasn't clean and the positions didn't change, Andy would take the win by 0.50 from David and Little Jonny was another 0.30 behind so all very close. It was an all Schumacher podium, and this result keeps Andy in the hunt for the championship.

The battle continues between Adam and Andy at the final round, whoever wins, WINS!
