GT Series 2015-16 National Announcement - NEW FORMAT!!

1/12th Circuit GT

The 12th Circuit Section are pleased to announce our GT Section calendar of events for the 2015/16 National Championship for GT12, WGT10, and Formula 1 cars. The championships will be contested over 5 indoor rounds on carpet, with each driver’s best 3 scores counting towards their final placing in the series.

During the season we will visit several of the established venues, but also a couple of new ones. The venues have been chosen based on their geographic spread, the level of their track and facilities and their previous track record of hosting similar events.

Calendar Dates

Round 1:              Jan 9 - Jan 10                    Maritime Raceway

Round 2:              Feb 6 - Feb 7                     MB Models

Round 3:              Mar 5 - Mar 6                     Newbury

Round 4:              Apr 9 - Apr 10                    Swifts Raceway

Round 5:              Apr 30 - May 1                   Teesside

Format

To allow the continued growth of the section the 2015/2016 events will be run over 1.5 days. This will enable an increase in the entry numbers for all classes while also ensuring no reduction in the amount of track time that competitors enjoyed at the 2014/2015 events.

Saturdays

Saturdays will see a later start than competitors may be used to, with racing starting around midday, once the track and pits have been setup. This should reduce costs for both clubs, who no longer need to rent the facilities the night before to setup, and for competitors who can more readily travel on the day rather than stay in a hotels the night before.

  • GT10 (for cars running 1S LiPo batteries, open speed controllers and brushless motors with a minimum of 10.5 turns)

  • Formula 1 (for cars running 1S LiPo batteries, ‘blinky’ speed controllers and brushless 13.5 turn motors  or 2S LiPo batteries, ‘blinky’ speed controllers and brushless 21.5 turn motors)

Sundays

  • GT12 (for cars running 1S LiPo batteries, ‘blinky’ speed controllers and brushless 13.5 turn motors)
