2018 LSOR Clarification & EGM – multispeed transmission systems

Large Scale Off Road

To all Large Scale Off Road National Championship Racers,

It has been bought to the Large Scale Off Road committees attention that multispeed transmission systems may soon be available for some of the off road vehicles which participate within our championship.

Whilst the LSOR section welcomes development within our sport we do not currently have any rules that permit their use within the Large Scale Off Road national series. However in the interest of determining their suitability, the committee have taken the decision that whilst they are not permitted within our 2 Wheel Drive/4 Wheel Drive buggy and short course national classes their use would be within the spirt of the outlaw class should anyone wish to try one.

To make this clarification part of the 2018 rules and maintain the ethos of large scale off road racings heritege the section will be holding an Extra General Meeting (EGM) ahead of the opening round of the 2018 season which commences on the 25th March.

EGM details, which is open to all racers with an interest in large scale off road racing, are below.

LSOR EGM - Introdution of multispeed transmission systems

Venue :- Nene Valley Raceway Off Road Model Car Club, Airfield Road, Podington, Northamptonshire, NN29 7XA

Date : 24th March 2018

Time : 2pm (during a break in the open practice session)

Location : Under cover area behind drivers rostrum

Proposal: the LSOR section wishes to propose the introudction of multispeed (variable ratio) transmission systems within the outlaw class of the LSOR National series whilst excluding them from our 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel drive and short course classes and limiting these to single (one) speed gearing.

To be eligible to vote you need to be a current 2018 BRCA member and as such those attending the meeting will be asked to sign in and show their "pink" cards on entry. If you wish to vote via email (please email Peter Barnes, lsorsec@brca.org with your vote, name and brca details) then please ensure they reach Peter by the 21st March 2018. Any votes which are received after this date will not be counted. An abstention is neither a vote for or against the proposal and as such leaves the decision to be made by those attending the meeting on the 24th with a 2/3rd majority of attendees required for acceptance of the proposal.

If accepted, then the sections construction rules will be updated to reflect the new rule which will come into immediate effect.

Please feel free to contact any one of the 2018 LSOR Section Committee if you have any further questions.

I look forward to seeing you at our first round of the 2018 race season

I have created an event in the event calendar if you wish to book your attendance at the EGM here -.
