Overview

With a comprehensive 2024/25 LMP12 National season behind us the UK is seeing a continued build of momentum running through the 12th scale community! The 2025/26 season’s venues and dates are already locked and loaded! Early booking in is recommended when we open for entries at the earlier time of July 1st 2025.

LMP12 is currently on a high in the UK with the British team bringing back the silverware from the ’25 Euros held in Belgium. We celebrate Ollie Payne as European Stock Champion and Finley Whitelock as European Junior Stock Champion. We are also proud to sport the most competitive group of young racers seen anywhere in the world, all racing at the very highest level.

We welcome back Stafford and West Bridgford clubs to the National roster, both hosting again after stellar debut gigs last year. We are returning to Dorset club in Poole after too long away! As always, our respect and thanks go to stalwart 12th clubs, Eastbourne, Crewe and Chesterfield making up the most complete season seen since Covid!

Classes & Notes

LMP12 classes for the 2025/6 season will be 13.5 Stock and 6.5 Modified.  The 13.5 Stock class will be run on an open basis, so no separate formula finals; finals will be run A-Z based on qualifying.

Drivers will be assigned formulas based upon ratings at the start of the season, subject to scrutiny by the 1/12 section committee. Drivers with ratings near the break point will have the opportunity to choose their formula. Formulas will be announced before the start of the season.

The 6.5 Modified class will have a 6.5 turn motor limit and will be run subject to there being at least fifteen entries in the class for round 1.  If the entry requirement for the first round is not met, drivers will be offered a transfer to Stock class. The number of places in each class is determined on a first come, first served basis. So if one class fills up it’s initial allocation we will re-shuffle the numbers in each class.

All classes will use zero-timing (blinky) speed controllers and motors and batteries from the BRCA Equipment Recognition Board lists current at the date of each event.

Entry.

Drivers may only enter for 1 class per event.

Please note that pure RC4 transponders (AMB Percy and Pro) should not be used at these events.

GT Nationals

The BRCA GT12 Committee is happy to announce the GT12 National Grand Prix for 2026!

The event will take place on the 31st of January and 1st of February 2026 at Tamworth Model Car Club.

We are trying a new format for this season, rather than having several smaller events dotted around the country we have chosen to have one big event in a fairly central location to try and bring as many GT12 racers together as possible under one roof!

The GT12 National Grand Prix is open to anyone who wishes to enter, there are no restrictions on ability, age or gender. The only things you'll need to race are a car that conforms to the rules and a valid BRCA license!

This event will be using the Grand Prix format, so over the two days all drivers will get lots of track time to learn the track and refine their setup. The Saturday will start in the afternoon around 3pm, with at least one round of practise and 3 qualifying runs. On Sunday, there will be one round of practise in the morning, followed by 3 more qualifying runs and then 3 rounds of finals for all.

Qualifying will be decided using the FTQ format as usual, with the fastest overall time deciding TQ. Finals will be contested over 3 legs, with the two best scores from each driver deciding their overall finishing position. The overall winner of the A final will also be crowned national champion! There will also be a Junior champion, based on Qualifying results for drivers who hold a BRCA Junior license.

We also hope to hold a couple of non-racing competitions including a concourse to find the best painted bodyshells!

See you all soon!

Notes

Please note that pure RC4 transponders (AMB Purcy and Pro) should not be used at these events.
